Chakra Balance & Alignment

What are chakras?

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs.

To function at their best, your chakras need to stay balanced. If they are over active or under active, then you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

There are seven main chakras that run along your spine. They start at the root, or base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head. That said, some people believe you have at least 114 different chakras in the body.

Chakras store the energy of thoughts, feelings, memories, experiences, and actions. They influence and direct our present and future mindset, behavior, emotional health, and actions. The life force in each chakra can be processed, transmuted and released so that we consciously manifest what we want to call in, rather than experience more of the same. Chakra healing is the intentional practice of connecting with our stored energy, so we may understand how our past is influencing the present and the future. Prana informs us, and influences our actions and behaviors, determining our health, career opportunities, relationships, and more. The subtle body depicts how our inner reality creates our outer reality. Metaphysical anatomy can help us to understand how pain can be held as emotions in the body, which if not cleared in the subtle body, can manifest into dis-ease in the physical body.

 How to balance your chakras.

1. Colours

Allow your own intuition to guide you in choosing what colours to wear. Our energy centres all have a particular frequency that resonates with certain colours that carry a similar frequency. For example if you are not feeling secure or grounded, maybe your root Chakra is not in balance with the rest of your energy centres. Maybe during this time you may feel drawn to wearing red. Whether that be outer clothes or underwear, this will help filter the colour that you need to help readdress the balance of the energy centre.

2. Food
Adjust your diet to take in more food of the same colour of the Chakra you are trying to balance. Using the root chakra as an example once again, try adding more red coloured foods to your diet i.e., tomatoes, radishes, water melons, peppers, pomegranates.

3. Sound
Just as colour has a frequency, so too does sound. Our energy centres resonate to specific musical notes.
Root = C, Sacral = D, Solar Plexus = E, Heart = F, Throat = G, Third Eye = A, Crown = B.
Listening to music in the above notes will stimulate that particular energy centre (classical music is pretty good for this). I use a combination of sound healing tools such as my gong, tuning forks, drum, rattles, singing bowl, koshi wind chimes & my voice, if light language is activated during a session.

4. Toning
We can also use our own voice to create tones to stimulate and balance the energy centres. Place both hands on the energy centre that feels out of balance, then begin to sound your deepest possible tone, gradually getting higher in pitch. You will intuitively know which pitch is correct for you, as you will begin to feel the centre feeling lighter and responding to that tone. Use this tone throughout the day/week until you feel more balanced. As you align your higher chakras, you may even find this toning will lead to development of light language, which is a channeled multidimensional language that brings sound and energy from spirit into the physical. It is a vibrational expression that speaks directly to our soul and DNA.

5. Essential oils

Essential oils also resonate at a particular frequency and can be used to balance chakras. They can be applied directly or by inhaling. (Please ensure if applying directly to the skin that they have been diluted sufficiently with a suitable carrier oil.)

6. Visualization/Meditation
Visualization is quite possibly the most powerful tool of all. Sitting in meditation, visualise drawing energy up from the centre of the earth and cleansing each energy centre, with the relevant colour, sound and frequency. During my practice, I may give you relevent grounding & cleansing techniques/meditations depending on your needs.

7. Crystals

The vibrations of crystals can be used to balance out the chakras. The different colours of the crystals usually match the colours of the chakras. For more information about crystal healing, please see the relevant modality section.

8. Elements.

Each chakra relates to an element, so I like to look to nature & the natural world around us & work with the elements of Earth, Fire, Water & Air. I also like to incorporate the dragon lay lines, as there are chakras of the land where sacred sites such as the Tor at Glastonbury (the heart chakra of the world) is located, as well as chakras of the body. So many lessons can be learnt from nature & when we look to nature for guidance, grounding, healing & cleansing, we can also take time out in nature for mindfulness. This allows us to be the observer, creates awareness & helps us to make decisions from a place of neutrality.

9. Sacred Geometry.

When balancing the chakras, I like to use the Celtic spiral system, as life is not linear & we move forward with the ebbs & flows of life. The sacred geometric shape of the spiral is one of the oldest symbols. It symbolises the slow reveal of things that are hidden. It can mean growth and evolution & represent people coming back to the same point in their life, but with new and better kinds of understanding. The symbol of the spiral can push the viewer to be flexible and have trust when things change.

10. Aura/Bio-Field

Each layer of your aura is said to correspond to a different chakra. Our physical body mainly consists of millions of cells, each of which is vibrating at a slow rate and giving off a certain amount of energy. Surrounding this physical body is another lighter and finer body of energy that vibrates at a greater rate than those of our cells. This constitutes our Aura. Thus, simply explained, the Aura is to our physical body what the atmosphere is to Earth. The Aura can be defined as a field of energy or light that surrounds every physical body on this planet. Each and every individual on the Earth has an Aura that comes in various colours called the spiritual colours of the Aura. These spiritual colours vary based on the state the Aura is in. Auras are capable of showing diseases and lack of health or balance in an individual. The Aura can be considered as a ‘mirror’ that reveals our present mental, physical and spiritual state.

11. Astrology, Numerology, Tarot & Exercise

Each chakra can relate to your life path number in numerology & each chakra is ruled by a planet in astrology. In the tarot, the major arcana cards can be linked to the corresponding chakra, or certain spreads can be used for guidance regarding the chakras. I also use chakra oracle cards for guidance too.   Any exercise that shifts energy through the body such as yoga & dance, can also benefit the body. I like to encourage qi gong, breath work, self expression & semantic movement if required during a session, to help the energy flow.

12. Energy Healing.

There are many energy healing modalities, each working with the life force energy, also known as Prana, Chi & Qi & aiding the flow for health & vitality of the subtle energetic body, which in turn promotes healing of the physical body. I use Shamanic, Reiki, Qi Gong, Quantum Healing, Sound Healing, Crystal Healing & EFT to balance the chakras. I will connect with my guides such as the archangels & dragons, which also have a different guide that corresponds to a chakra.

*You can also book in for a 1-1 aura reading where I use psychic art & mediumship to read your aura, connect you to your guide or passed over loved one.
